Ghana appoint Kim Lars Bjorkegren to lead interim Black Stars team for Somalia fixture

Ghana have appointed Kim Lars Bjorkegren to lead an interim technical team for the Black Stars’ November international fixture against Somalia.The Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed the decision on 16 October 2026 after consulting the Ministry of Sports and Recreation and accepting a recommendation from the Black Stars Coach Search Committee.Bjorkegren will be supported by Ibrahim Tanko and Godwin Attram, who will serve as assistant coaches. Former Ghana goalkeeper Fatawu Dauda has been appointed goalkeepers coach.The interim team follows an extensive review by the Black Stars Coach Search Committee, which consulted a number of qualified coaching candidates. The committee concluded that a combined coaching group would provide the most effective leadership during what it described as an important period of transition and renewal.The arrangement is intended to offer continuity, experienced leadership and a clear strategic direction as the Black Stars prepare for their November international commitments.
