Meet Paulo Dias, the Expat Behind Prague’s Pintz Beer App

Finding a good beer in Prague is rarely a difficult task. Finding the right pub, knowing what a pint costs and deciding where to go next is a different question. For Paulo Dias, that challenge became the idea behind Pintz, a web app built to help people navigate Prague’s rich beer scene. Originally from Portugal, Paulo has spent almost 15 years living abroad, moving between Slovakia and the UK before eventually taking a job in the Czech Republic. He first arrived in the Czech Republic in 2021, spending several months in Opava before moving to Prague in February 2022. Even after the move, he was cautious about settling in. “When I moved to Prague, I wasn’t buying many things for my apartment, because if I moved again, I’d have to pack everything,” Paulo recalls. That changed once his new job became more stable. By the end of the year, he was already thinking about staying. I think the quality of life in Prague is quite amazing.
